We are excited to announce that we are now certified carbon neutral for the year 2022/23.

To achieve carbon neutrality, we have implemented a range of initiatives across our operations; this has enabled us to offset 143 tonnes of CO2 emissions. We have also worked closely with our suppliers to ensure that they share our commitment to sustainability.

At CTO Lighting, we believe that luxury and sustainability can go hand in hand. We are committed to creating beautiful lights that not only enhance a space but have limited impact on the environment. By achieving carbon neutrality, we have taken a significant step towards achieving this goal and look forward to continuing to innovate and lead the way in sustainable luxury lighting.

CTO Lighting prides itself on British design & manufacturing, using the highest quality, durable materials, resulting in a truly timeless product. Our suppliers are carefully selected ensuring that all involved in the process of creating a CTO Lighting fixture held the highest standards in the industry. Currently, 80% of our suppliers are based in the United Kingdom, 15% are based in Europe and 5% are based in the rest of the world.

Energy sourcing

CTO Lighting uses 64% renewable energy in its premises.

Waste reduction

All metal, cardboard and paper waste are 100% recycled. We also currently recycle 53% of our own factory waste and are looking into solutions to achieve 100% in the next 3 to 5 years.

Evolve our production methods, materials, service and product lifecycles to strive towards a circular economy.

Recycling

Our products are currently created using 86% recyclable materials. Our cardboard packaging is also made from 70% recycled materials and is 100% recyclable. To ensure safe delivery of our products, we also use packaging inlays made from Stratocell; this is a lightweight, Polyethylene foam that is comprised of 30% recycled materials and is 100% recyclable.

Longevity

CTO Lighting prides itself on British design & manufacturing, using the highest quality, durable materials, resulting in a truly timeless product. Our manufacturing process is never rushed, always considered and timeless beyond trends. Our designs are renowned for standing the test of time. A testament to this, is the bespoke lighting that adorns the iconic dome lounge and elegant rooms of the Threadneedles Hotel, in the heart of the City of London. Commissioned over 20 years ago, the lighting exudes the same beauty as the day it were installed.

Repairing and refurbishing

CTO Lighting is renowned for its dedicated service, including the repair and refurbishment of damaged products.

Lumicon

Through our recycling partner Lumicom we can offset up to 100% of the waste from our lights sold in the UK. If you have an ‘end-of-life’ product that you no longer want, then please contact Lumicom who will assist with the recycling process.

The CTO Lighting Team are the heart of our business, as such we are an accredited Real Living Wage employer and are fully compliant with all employment laws. CTO Lighting supports its team to encourage a better work-life balance, an example of which is an extended weekend, with a shorter working day on a Friday, which is part of CTO Lighting initiative for a balanced social and work environment.

Charity

CTO Lighting is proud to support local charities including: Culpeper Community Garden, St. Rocco’s Hospice and Next Meal. Close to CTO Lighting’s London office in Islington, Culpeper Community Garden provides social and therapeutic horticulture. St. Rocco’s Hospice focuses on the positives, supporting patients physically, psychologically and emotionally, enabling them to carry on living the lives they want for as long as possible. Next Meal helps the homeless and vulnerable find a place of safety, where they can receive food, compassion and practical support.
